Installed on Suse Linux 9.1 and running with WINE with no problems but when the program is run, I get an error message saying unable to load card set (gdcard.cards). Anyone know what may cause this? I would like to figure a work-a-round on this. |

I know there are people who run Pretty Good Solitaire without problems using WINE. That error generally means that the game cannot find the default card set (gdcard.cards). Make sure it is properly installed in the same folder as the game. |

I can't really help with WINE on Linux because I know nothing about it. I would try reinstalling since it sounds like it's having problems with some files.

Hey Thomas, I FINALLY got Goodsol v.11.0 to work on my Linux system (OpenSuse 11)...from w/in Linux, click on the install and let Wine install it to it's "Fake" windows Program Files...next, copy all the cardset files into the folder (should be /home/user/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Games/goodsol)...I added the /Games to my path. This was one of 3 of my favorite games (Goodsol, Bookworm Deluxe and Moraff) that I was waiting to be able to play on Linux to consider having a Linux only system...now that is finally reality...will try to install on Kubuntu 8.04 next...thanks for the Greatest Solitaire Suite EVER! Sincerely, a GoodSol Addict....Lita Letourneau... |
