A pint is an indefinite quantity. Once I'm IN a pub I DEFINITEly don't want to leave until I've done more research into on the subject. I'll do your share too. Save you the bother. Wouldn't want you falling off your bike again.
BTW which Solitaire game are you tackling just now?

Wheels of Terror

New wheels for Ken Millar
Now he's just pedalling along
The local gals are after him
Loads of sighs
as they clock his thighs
But he's singing a happy song.

He’s singing a "Higgity, haggity, hoggety, high
God dam gals, they never say die
A mile up the road there’s a nice wee bar
And I can watch those single gals
Go pedalling by".

SPOKEN: “Faster Ken, they’re catching up with you!”
“Thanks Mike. Nice dogs BTW".

Two wheels on Ken's pushbike,
Now he's just flying along
Them single mums are after him
Advice from Mike,
"Get a motor-bike,
And stop singing that god dam song".

He's singing a "Higgity, haggity hoggety, high

Bachelors, must never say die

Half a mile up the road there’s a nice we bar

And I can watch those home-makers

Go pedalling by.

SPOKEN: “Duh, Ken? Are you sure this is the right road?”
“Will you hush up Mike? You and your maps!”

Those wheels on Ken's racer,
Are zapping up the miles
Them single mums are after him
Ten miles he burns, as his pedals turn
Still singing that crappy song.

He's singing a "Higgity, haggity hoggety, high
Single man til the day I die.
Right around that turn there’s a nice wee bar
And I can watch my pursuers
Go pedalling by".

SPOKEN: “Ken? Couldn't I just give you a lift?”
“Mike, you old woman, I know what I’m doing!”

Tearing into their car-park,
Didn't spot that patch of sand
In just two shakes
used his head as brakes.
Horrid sound as he hit the ground.
Stopped him singing that stupid song.

SPOKEN: “They're onto you Ken. A whole pack of them. Here they come!”

"Mike! Help Me!!!!".
"Sorry Ken! I'm off! Got dogs to walk. Chores to do".

"He's mine!"
"I saw him first".
"Did not!!".
"Get back! I'm a nurse".
"So am I!. You put him down".
"Liar!"
"I'll kiss it better Ken".
"Nice thighs!"
"Do you believe in love at first sight?"
"Do you like kids Ken?"
"I'm in love already".
"We could get married".
"Back off bitch! I'm having him!"
"Oh yeah? Wanna bet?"
* * * *

BTW Ken, the title "Wheels of Terror" came from an excellent series of books by Sven Hassel. If memory serves me his next one was called "Legion of the Damned". Ha!

Hang about! You get talking greetings cards these days, why not a talking gravestone? It could be solar powered with pretty little coloured lights and things. There could even be a little video screen inplanted with the new words dubbed onto footage of the New Christy Minstrels. We're on to a winner here Mike. Well done! Phone the Patents Office pdq.

2 weeks ago I did an organized 50K bike ride. Now I'm going out of town to do an organized 50 mile bike ride. ( I think I like the metric system better!)

Why bother with a set distance at all? Pick a route from A to B to C and back to A. Your preference of kilometres over miles doesn't mean you are become metricated (like we have been forced into in the UK with many things). It just suggests to me that you are getting longer in the tooth, and keener to see the finish line.
Surely with your weather the USA should be developing solar assisted bicycles. You're going to need all the help you can get in a few years. You'll be organising 5K races then. It won't be long yeah, it won't be long yeah.....

Well, Gregg, here is THE game we've both been waiting for! Your MSU Spartans against my UNBEATEN Iowa Hawkeyes! It should be a great game. You guys always play us tough! (But I still want to point out that thanks to the vagaries of Big 10 scheduling, this is the SECOND year in a row that were playing at East Lansing). GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!

Hmm... (thinking back)

That (MSU/Iowa) game was the 7th game played at Spartan Stadium under the lights. I was at the very first night game, in 1987, when MSU opened the season with a Labor Day win against USC (27-13). That season, it turned out to just be a preview of MSU beating USC in the 1988 Rose Bowl (20-17).

Good times. :-)

Just thought I'd tell you that Ireland are the World Champions after their win over Scotland in the Hurling/Shinty International played on 31st Oct 2009. Up until then Scotland were the undefeated World Champions.
We have taken a leaf out of your book in that respect. It doesn't matter how many nations compete, you are the World Champions if you beat your opponent in the final.
BTW, Hurling and Shinty are two very different games, and only two nations have ever competed against one another. (Hurling is only played in Ireland, and Shinty only played in Scotland). Can we expect IOWA to field teams in both disciplines next year? Just imagine!!!!! IOWA, WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!

You are on your way to getting a team assembled already then Ken. Got any mates?
BTW...Just Googled this....
Hurling is played throughout the world, and is popular among members of the Irish diaspora in the United Kingdom, North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina.
Perhaps there WILL be some competition at some point in time.

Has Iowa played a Pac 10 team yet? It's tougher out here. We have better dr-ugs. Hurling/Shinty. is not very popular around here. Rugby is played more. I guess because if you put a stick in someones hands around here it will end in a fight. Perhaps it is time for the sport powers to come up with another title for these various "World" championships. How about "This is our Championship and you can't play". To long. " The 2009 this is our sport not yours Championship". I am thinking Richards favorite Billy Connely would say something like. "The 2009 who could care less championship". I am of course paraphrasing.

WOW! A four line post! Are you feeling a bit better now Mike? Get all the bile out of your system like I do. Let rip at Ken.
Yes, we all realise the farce of "world" championships. I actually had no idea about the Hurley/Shinty international until it came up on the Scottish news. They suggested that the winners could call themselves world champions, (with an oblique poke at base-ball). As for Shinty...there are very few teams in Scotland. It's probably as popular here as it is in Iowa.
Alternative titles? How about "It's our ball and we'll call it what we like"?
That's another banned word for our collection...base-ball. Weird!
