This forum started this january, and some of the threads are really long. In other forums I have these features which are missing here: Option to see messages only of the last month, name of the person who started the thread and not only the last writer, Search for more than just the three last days, search for author without having to enter a keyword. Often I ask a question, and I can't find it to see the answers because I can't find my posts. I'm sure that you use a standard forum program, because except for the missing features it behaves like the one I use a lot at home. Could anything be changed/added? |

Most of those you can do. You can search by author (select "Names of Authors" in the Look in box). You can search for more than the last 3 days by changing the 3 in the box (it is weird that weeks and months aren't options there, but whatever). You can see just the posts of the last day or last week (although not last month) by clicking on them at the very bottom of the page. This forum is run on a standard forum program called Discuss, there's a certain amount of customization possible but things like features of searches would have to be programmed in. It is updated all the time and I'll probably update the software when there are major new versions. The site that sells the software (if anyone cares) is <http://www.discusware.com>. |

Hi "boss" <g>, One other programming option you might want to think about, when and if it becomes available, is the ability to display posts within a given thread in reverse order. That way the most recent replies are right at the top and you don't have to scroll way down looking for them. The topics themselves are already set up this way, which is handy. And of course those "new" flags sure don't hurt. Best, Mike |

It would be nice to be able to change the ordering of the messages, but I don't think the program has that capability. |

Thanks Tom. I never tried to change the number of days or choose Author. So this is what I got now, I guess I have to practice some more. ----- Search Results Your search found 14 posts on 10 pages in 5 topics. <img src="/forum/icons/tree_g ---- no list of the posts. |
