Hi -
I've personally never bothered to un-install an old version when upgrading to a newer one, as with the new PGS9. One advantage of simply re-installing over the existing one is that your exisiting registration should be neatly picked up automatically, plus any options/preferences you've set should also be picked up and apply to the new version.

Best,
Mike

Sara, the new games 'button' is under the Games Explorer list, count up from the bottom of the listm, and it is #14.

Uninstalling PGS500 is unnecessary, as version 9 installs over it. You may just want to delete the 500 icon on your desktop.

The New Games group is in the same position it was in the previous version.

has anyone had problems with download virus from this site? I love solitaire but am very concerned about the integrity of downloads.

I have never had any virus from any reputable shareware site, ever. I download far more software than most people (and I scan everything). It would be a good general practice to use anti-virus software anyway, but you do not need to fear downloading anything from this site.

The sites that you do need to worry about are shady or illegal sites, such as porn sites, music swapping sites (or services), or any "unbelievable" deal from spam email. :-)

I strongly suggest that you download Pretty Good Solitaire; you will definitely enjoy it. I would also humbly suggest that you try Pretty Good MahJongg and Action Solitaire at the same time. They are all great games (even if I am somewhat biased).

We virus check all of our files, so they should be safe. You should have a virus scanning program as well running so that it will check all downloads.

These days, viruses infection regular downloaded files are very rare. Almost all viruses these days come via emails and email attachments, as that is a much easier way for the virus to spread. Virus writers can get a lot more publicity by writing email viruses, so that's pretty much what they all do now.
