Hi Rose,
I assume you refer to the fee for "purchasing" (i.e., registering) one of the marvelous games.
Tom Warfield and crew have long had a policy that paid registration includes any and all upgrades, including full new versions, for three years afterwards. And if, like a lot of us, you become totally lifetime-hooked, usually there's been a significant discount for upgrades after the three years. And the new purchase starts a fresh 3-year period.
Obviously Tom and crew could change their marketing policies, but I imagine they'll stick with the current updating procedure for the foreseeable future.

To buy our games is only a one time fee.
You can use the version you buy forever. In addition, you get several years of free upgrades to newer versions.
