Fairly new at freecell and Three cells but after a couple of weeks am doing ok. Started at 1 on Three Cells and going up I'm stuck on #21.!! Been wrestling that thing for 2 days.!! I'm sure it's winnable 'cause they are all supposedly so. Could I have a hint, please? Chas. |

Thank you Paul. I really enjoy the game. And thanks for the #169 tip. I should be about there sometime in January...:-) Chas. |

One of them is winnable, but no joy with the others. |

Hi Charles. Yes 575 is winnable, but far from easy. You need to take cards back off the foundations before it becomes possible. The (dot).pgs just tells you that it is a Pretty Good Solitaire file and that's what you need to run it. Have a look in the "Is It Winnable" section and locate PICTORIAL DOWNLOAD GUIDE and follow the instructions there. In this instance it will be this link that you're interested in, ../18/Three_Cel ls_575_difficult-4095.txt but see if you can locate and use it as instructed.

Hi Charles 3 cells 21 is winnable I started like this 3s-4d 6d up 3d-4s 8h up 7h up ah out 5c-6h 7h-8c 6c-7h 3s up 4d-5c 3c-4d 2d-3c jh-qc 5h-6c 9d-10s as out 2s out 3s out 9h up 3d to space 4s-5h 3d-4s 9d to space 10s-jh 3d-4c 4s out 9d-10s 3d to space 4c-5h 9d-10s 9h-10s 3d-4c 8d up kc to space 4s out 3d out over 99.9% of freecell are winnable but there a less winnable for 3 cells you can never win games 169 178 285 454 575 698 617 657 775 829 or 988 in the first 1000 in fact 617 is one of the hardest with the 4 cells in freecell I hope this helps regards paul |

Hi Paul, You already told Charles how to win #21 on Sunday, November 04, 2007. I get so bored at times I search through old posts and have had a go at every game that has not yet been solved. That's how I found a solution to #575 which has been posted as unwinnable. I've had no joy with the rest of the Three Cells but have not given up completely. I'll dig them out again the next time I've got nothing better to occupy me. What are you doing battle with these days?

Hi silly me I forgot the last message was on the bottom of the page rather than the top. I am trying to get all the 630 games played again so i will have played most of all of them at least 10 times and periodically i try the 7 impossible ones Paul
