Hi Paul, We were beginning to think you'd signed a vow of silence. Nice to hear from you again. Re Carol, I think that they must have missed out a decimal point in the difficulty rating, (perhaps even two). I've played games 1 - 30 without getting close to a winner. I suspect it's got a lot to do with the portion of the rules which explains about re-arranging the cards at the foot of the screen after every deal. It's derived from Thirteen Packs so it may be an idea to select your winning game number/s from that, and see how you get on. When/if I eventually get my new registration number, this is what I intend trying. |

Hi Paul--it's been a long time since I saw anything from you on the board here-- "Carol" is a lot like "13 Packs"--I am only trying to find out the difference between them--and "13 Packs" was always my nemesis--- |

Interesting.... It is winnable at least 50% when you read the directions!!! The ability to rearrange being the key. I played quite a few without using that rather pivotal aspect. I like to figure out new games by just playing and read the directions later if needed. Id say its harder than 13pact if you dont rearrange but still can be won. |

Carol is a variation of Thirteen Packs. Yes, it is easier because you can move the cards around when a pile is open. The game is called Carol because a common name for Thirteen Packs (or a variation of it) is "Grandma's Game" and Carol was my grandmother's name. |

Game 30 of Suits in Line is winnable Paul, but I've no winners for any of the rest. Just 10 left to win. |

This should be a winning position but it wont allow the ace to be moved to the empty ace space?

Yes,something wierd Ken. I managed to get the ace to move but the 3D somehow landed on the 6D which had been under it. I could then move the 3 into an empty pile which shouldn't have been possible either.

You can have a load of fun from your uploaded position Ken. Try dragging the AD over the empty space and hitting "enter" at the same time. It will sometimes stick to your cursor and allow you to place it where you want to. Then the 6D refuses to move. |
