Is it ever winnable if there is no King on the bottom of at least one pile? How could it be? It seems to always be easily winnable if there is.... |

I'm wondering the same thing. I don't think that it is possible to win if there is no king on the bottom of at least one pile. The last card played has to be a King and if none of the piles have a king on the bottom they you're left with a king sitting on top of one or more cards and no way to unblock it.
