I recently started to play the game Royal Parade and when I went to check the top scores I came upon the top scorer had played 454,824 and lost 0 giving him 100% average yet his average game score was 1. How is it possible to get a score of 1? |

As it says on each scores page, an average score of 1 means that the statistics were submitted from an older version of Pretty Good Solitaire (pre version 8). Older versions did not report the average score, so it is set to 1.

Is it possible though for someone to play 454,824 games? |

Yes. It works out to about 125 games every day for 10 years. It would depend on how much effort you put into playing each deal, but at 3 minutes per hand it is theoretically possible in under 7 hours per day. When I was very ill I sometimes played PGS for 15 hours plus some days. |

Richard, do you know how old PGS is? I estimate I've been playing since 1987 give or take a few years. It's funny how I just discovered this discussion forum in only the last month. |

Thomas said recently that this was the 15th anniversary of PGS Kathy. We probably played inbuilt Windows solitaires prior to that. Guess we're just getting old. |

I can tell I'm getting old when I get up from my chair after hours of playing. My joints get stiff and it takes me a while to get moving. |

I see I was promoted from solitaire player to intermediate solitaire player. How does that happen? |

It is just an indication of how often you make posts. Windbags like Mike and myself are "Masters". The rate you are posting will make you one quite soon too. |

I think, it took me about 4 to 6 weeks to get a Master Solitaire Player, and i have had the same question as you, Kathy. And Richard destroyed than all my hopes with his answer. Thanks Richard. |

I hope I haven't been posting too much, but after playing PGS for 15 years and just now finding out about the discussion forum, I finally get to share and ask questions I've always wondered about. Plus, being a shut-in with only 1 immediate family member, it's great to make new friends. |

Don't worry about "posting too much" Kathy. You've got a LOT of catching up to do. It's nice to have someone new participating in the forum. |

Also, it gives Richard something to do as idle hands are the devil's workshop (and Richard is devilish enough..see above post!). |
