Audrey, I've won it 4 times. Try #1, #2, #1548254080, and #1756841600. Good luck, Ken

I played #1548254080 three times and didn't win it once--I will try the other numbers that have been given over the past couple of days---

Me, too. Frances. I must get stupider every day. I need help and can't open Richards' solutions. I make them into .jpg files and just can't open them. Bye Audrey

Variegated Canfield is described in the rules as :- 2 Decks. Very Hard (2%). Mostly Skill.
The "mostly" part tells me that some luck is involved, namely in finding a game that is possible to win. The "skill" part informs me that I'll have to use my guile and ingenuity to win them and that they are unlikely to surrender tamely. You have to work at it, and it's quite likely that you'll have to play them over and over and over again in order to crack them. I'm sure I'm not the only player who has spent hours trying to solve a troublesome game number. It's not that you're getting "stupider", it's just that you're not puting enough determination into it. If at first you don't succeed, etc, etc etc.

Well done Ken. two - nil, The Boys.
Richard.
Now have a go at my Repair poser, (if you're up to it). Was that a gauntlet being thrown?

Hi Audrey--I just copy down the so-called winning numbers--I'm not ambitious enough to put them into files or folders--LOL! But I have not won with that particular number at all--tried again four times this morning and----nothing!
bye--Frances

The best that I've been able to score on #1548254080 of v. Canfield and that's after numerous efforts. I keep looking for craftinesses, like not using an apparently good number but nothing seems to improve it; I'm ready to try eating worms, in the garden! Bye Audrey It's time to ask Paul to work on it. Bye Audrey

Hi Audrey,
Worms. That's some kind of food that birds eat isn't it? Ken said he's won this one so he'd removed all of the doubt element for you.I've uploaded the game to a point that you should be able to make progress from. The Very Hard section is supposed to be just that. You'll solve more and more of them if you just persist.
Good luck with this one. It wasn't easy. You just have to keep coming up with more and more avenueus of attack until you find the right one.
Richard.

Hi Audrey,
I'm attempting to upload the same file again in a different format that you may have more success in opening. Hope this works.
Richard.

I played this # over two years ago like Tampa ken so didnt have the game saved. It took a few tries also. It is the hardest of the group.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to keep trying. My best score has been 37... must improve on that. Richard: all that I have left now (some 83) are difficult! Bye. Audrey If it's the hardest of the group, my best bet might be one of the others, though.

Hi Audrey,
PGS is a lot like playing a musical instrument, some people will inevitably be better at it than others. However the more you practice, the better you'll learn to play, and the more pleasure you'll get from it.I was extremely ill for several years and played PGS morning noon and night. I still put in a few hours every day, so I think I've earned my stripes. When you win some of the hard ones unaided, it will give you a real buzz.
Persevere,
Richard

Greetings, puzzlers. Well, I finally solved Variegated Canfield #158254080, with great help from Paul. I don't understand the numbers on Ken's file and think that, if I ever learn how, it will be most helpful. I appreciated all your good wishes and need to re-wire my cerebral cortex. Bye Audrey

While I'm posting this at "variegated canfield" my questions have to do with "superior canfield."
I am not able to reach the reserve column to use the crds placed there. I am not able to see the entire column of 13 cards, only 11. How can I get to see the entire column?

Select a smaller card size from the in-game Options tab would be the best bet.

Richard is on holiday. He will return in a few days. Or when he has had his fill from the public houses.
